16-04-2009
It gives the club great pleasure in announcing that the first winner of the Steven Toumbas Achievement Award is Michael Timotheou of the Omonia Under 18`s.

Michael was presented with his award at monday`s Memorial Match for Steven, Steven`s parents Phedoros & Penny very kindly agreed to present the award to Michael.

The management committee unanimously agreed that the award go to Michael for his outstanding contribution to the club this season, helping the under 18`s win the Middlesex Cup, where he capped a fine performance with the first goal of the game, he is also the teams top goalscorer and as his manager Jack Koushi, puts it is a very well mannered and pleasant kid. MIDDLESEX CHAMPIONS !!!!

Omonia U18`s 2 – British Airways 2
Omonia win 4 – 2 on Penalties AET

The Under 18`s won a thrilling match to become Middlesex Champions against a very determined British Airways team.

Omonia twice had the lead only to be pegged back in the final minutes of normal time, before going onto win the penalty shoot out. Backed by a rousing 12th man the Omonia Supporters who travelled in their numbers, with the chorus ringing out “there`s only one Cyprus Airways, one Cyprus Airways” the crowd was in good humour on what turned out to be Omonia Youth Football Club`s 3rd Middlesex Cup triumph. Well done to Jack, Kostas and their squad.

Also on the goal scoring front we have Pany Panayiotou of the Under 13s Green who follows behind with 35.

In defence we also have our goalkeepers clean...

Omonia Youth Mourns Steven Toumbas
17-12-2008

Omonia Youth Football Club received the sad news on tuesday morning that former player Steven Toumbas had passed away. Steven was just 19 years old. Our heart felt condolences go out to his parents Phedoro and Penny.

Steven was a prolific striker for Omonia Youth. He played with the club from 8 years old to age 16. he played under the management of both Jimmy Nikiforou and current vice chairman Andrew Kouroushi.

The people who remember Steven are in deep shock, he was a giant on the pitch, not just in stature but also in the way he played and led his team mates from the front. A gentle, polite and respectful boy off the pitch.

Steven will be laid to rest this saturday morning at...
